Burr Forest Group Wins Three CFWF Awards
[Winnipeg, MB, Oct. 1, 2025] – Burr Forest Group (BFG) is excited to share that it was honoured with three awards at the Canadian Farmer Writers’ Federation (CFWF) annual banquet held in Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.
“These recognitions reinforce our role as extension and communications leaders—translating research into plain language, telling stories that resonate at the farmgate, and helping organizations show real value to their members,” says Toban Dyck, principal at Burr Forest Group.
BFG’s podcast, The Extensionists, took home bronze in the electronic media – audio category (The Tom Leach Award). BFG’s KTT Cluster 4 June 2024 report won bronze in the communication – long category (The Henry Heald Award). A photograph taken by Dyck during a June 2024 storm was awarded gold in the landscape photography category.
“We’re proud to be recognized alongside so many peers doing important work in Canadian agriculture,” adds Dyck.
The annual CFWF ceremony awards recognizes excellence across 14 award categories, with gold, silver, and bronze honours determined by a distinguished panel of 17 judges representing diverse backgrounds in journalism, agriculture, and communications from across Canada and the United States.
The CFWF serves the common interests of agricultural journalists, including reporters, editors and broadcasters as well as those in business and government whose primary responsibility is agricultural communications.
